1/2 # lean ground beef
1/2 each onion, chopped
1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
1 cup tomato sauce
1 cup water
1/2 cup sliced olives
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated
2 cups uncooked shells
Brown the ground beef, breaking it into little pieces.
Add the onion and brown it as well.
Add the shells, tomato sauce and water, and parsley
Cover and let cook until the shells are al dente, stirring occasionally
to prevent sticking. Add water if necessary.
Add the olives and cheddar cheese
Cover and let warm for a few minutes until the cheese melts
For a variation, add some taco seasoning
Can also be made with Italian sausage instead of ground beef, or chicken
or turkey sausage, as long as they aren't very fatty
